Expression of Interest

Arctic Stock is looking to grow its image collection of Inuit culture, traditions, and everyday life.

Currently are looking for 4 photographers to be part of this exciting project. If you are located in Nunavut and are interested in celebrating the unique Northern culture and sharing local stories through photos, we invite you to submit an Expression of Interest!

 

About Arctic Stock

Our circumpolar image collection takes you to the farthest corners of the North and provides an intimate view through the lens of local people. We collect images and clips from people living and working in one of the most beautiful and harsh natural settings on the planet. Check us out at www.arcticstock.ca

Our Purpose:

• Give contributors a place to show their work
• Provide a source of income for contributors in remote northern regions
• Offer a central place for Northern images
• Show daily life in the Arctic

 

Project Expectations:

Successful candidates will:

• Recruit and manage Inuit models (ensure no criminal records)
• Manage, coordinate and schedule models, locations and props
• Manage transportation of models to settings
• Manage and digitally file model and location release forms (provided by Arcticstock)
• Manage and cover model and location fees and payments
• Provide your own camera equipment
• Collect and edit photos

Deliverables:

Successful proponents will be required to deliver a total of 100 edited photos; 20 photos from 5 different settings of the proponents choosing from the following list (diversity of poses, camera angles, props):

• Hunting/fishing
• Boating
• In the home
• Traditional clothing
• Traditional games
• Cultural activities
• Trades (construction, welding, electrician, mechanic, plumbing)
• In the Office
• Traditional Foods
• Crafts/Sewing
• Carving
• Sports
• On the land
• Northern Community
• Language
• Inuit Youth
• Northern tools and techniques
• Northern Healthcare
• Inuit Families

All photos to include at least one Inuit model.

Each setting must have different Inuit models.

All photos must be taken within Nunavut.

Photo specs:

• Submit the highest resolution image you have, file size maximum 10 MB.
• The maximum resolution accepted will be 10000 pixels on longest side
• Files must be .jpg or .jpeg formats.
• Photos must be clear and sharp, and the focus should be on Inuit models

 

Expression of Interest Submission:

Interested individuals will need to provide a 2-page submission (max) to be considered. Submission to include:

• Methodology
• Experience
• Shoot locations (community/s)
• Link to portfolio

All submitted photos become the exclusive property of Arctic Stock.

Schedule:

Delivery is expected within 2 months from contract award

Contract Value:

$5000.00 CAD
